February 2025 Month Notes
Writing those January month notes kind of blew the cobwebs out, and it made me happy to write four other posts this month. I mean, not only writing the posts but having something to write about and the motivation to do it.
This month I’ve been:
- Accepting (embracing??) the impact of AI coding
- Looking through my old files and reviving old PHP sites
- Working on Lingomio
- Getting this blog to spin up in docker (waste of time)
- Fixing up bits of MD/HTML syntax on this blog
- Articulating thoughts about remote work tools
- And, of course, delivering value for dayjob
We had a nice week off in Wales. Baby Frog had a birthday. Now that we’re out of the frost, I’ve started pruning the fruit trees ready for spring. I love spring! 🌼🌱
A few thoughts about this site:
- The blog index page is getting slow to load and it needs a pager… but then I wouldn’t be able to
Ctrf+f
the posts/synopses in one place, and I’d need a search feature 🤔 - The statement “New post every 15.4 days (on average) since August 2014” is an increasingly fictional take on the cadence of posts round here, which is more of a boom and bust business in truth. I’d love to make a Github-style contributions chart plotting intensity by month instead.
- Everything in the blog index page could use an overhaul, and I could add a proper colophon page.
- As for desiring more than 10 posts per year we are well on track to smash that, yay.
- If I put topic stickers on the front page and blog index, where would they go in responsive (single column) layout?
Here’s to a great March! 💂🥁🎺
